Africa will industrialise when it builds the machines to do it.
ADDAfrica, the Alliance for Deeptech and Data in Africa, exists to build the manufacturing base the continent is missing. We start by connecting every machine that already exists. We use what that unlocks to build the ones that don't.
Join the AllianceRead the charterAfrica designs. Then it exports the making.
The continent has the engineers, the founders and the ideas. It doesn't have enough industrial capacity to turn them into products at scale. The machines that do exist are scattered, underused and invisible to the people who need them.
Connecting them is where it starts. It isn't where it ends.
An institution built to close the gap.
ADDAfrica brings together manufacturers, labs, universities, founders and investors around one mission: build Africa's deeptech and hardware manufacturing base, and make sure the opportunity it creates is shared across the continent.
The bigger the network, the cheaper it gets to build in Africa. More members mean more machines, more materials, fuller shipments and lower costs for everyone.
How we get there
Connect what exists
A shared network for fabrication. Members offer their machines and build their designs. Idle capacity goes to work, and real orders show us where the continent's gaps are.
Build what's missing
The network reveals the capabilities and demand Africa lacks. We fund new shared capacity to meet them, starting with university-hosted labs, through network revenue, debt and grants.
Industrialise
A connected network of shared facilities that takes a design from prototype to production anywhere on the continent.
One network. Four things you can do on it.
Offer capacity
Register your machines, materials and availability. Set your rates and your hours. Your equipment is listed to every member who needs it.
Build
Upload a design and specs. The network matches your job to the machines that fit, and can split a build across sites to move faster.
Source materials
Buy prototyping and manufacturing materials from other members. Imported orders ship together, so moving feedstock costs less for everyone.
Book expertise
Need an engineer, a designer, a certification specialist or a manufacturing consultant? Book professional services from verified members.
- JoinApply and tell us what you offer and what you need.
- Get verifiedWe check your equipment, materials or credentials, so everyone on the network can trust what they book.
- Offer or buildList what you have, or submit what you need built.
- MatchThe network routes the work to the right members.
- DeliverWork is completed, checked and handed over. Payment releases when it's confirmed.
- GrowEvery completed job builds your record, which unlocks better terms, more visibility and, in time, asset financing.
Everything on the network is verified.
A shared network only works if you can trust what you book. Every machine, material and professional is checked before it is listed, and judged by its record after that.
Machines
- What it can do: type, size, materials and tolerances
- Condition and maintenance history
- A test build or inspection before listing
Materials
- Grade and specification, stated plainly
- Origin and supplier traceability
- Certificates attached to the order where the material is regulated
People and services
- Registered business or verified individual
- Credentials and past work checked
- Clear scope and terms for every booking
- RegisteredYour documents are checked and you can join the network.
- VerifiedYour equipment, materials or credentials have been inspected or tested.
- ProvenYou have a record of completed, confirmed jobs. Proven members get better terms and more visibility.
Payment is held until the buyer confirms the work, and every dispute has a defined route to resolution. For regulated sectors, buyers set the standard their work must meet. Members show the certifications they hold, and ADDAfrica never claims a certification a member does not have. The full standard is published with the charter.
Built for the industries that make things.
Who belongs
- Workshops and manufacturers with equipment and spare hours
- Labs and universities with machines that sit idle
- Material suppliers with feedstock to sell
- Engineers and specialists with services to offer
- Hardware teams with designs and no factory
- Investors who want to back real industrial capacity
Most members will be more than one of these.
What membership gives you
- Access to capacity, materials and expertise across the continent
- Pooled shipments of imported materials, at lower cost
- Verified status other members can trust
- Protected payments and dispute handling
- Preferred terms as your track record grows
- A voice in the Alliance's standards and governance
- More benefits as the network grows
Membership tiers and pricing will be shared with founding members.
Coming next
Prototyping and manufacturing materials will be sold on the platform from early on, so builders and machine owners can source what they need in one place.
Members will be able to finance equipment through the network, so more capacity gets built as demand grows.
The machines are the start. The industrial base is the goal.
Founding members help set the standards, the governance and the roadmap. Tell us what you offer and what you need, and we'll be in touch by email.
